Many foot, heel and leg complaints are linked to how load travels through the foot. P.O.R.C uses a Materialise Footscan pressure plate and PHITS 3D-printed custom insoles to help plan support that matches your feet, your shoes and your activity.
A foot scan is not a diagnosis. It measures pressure and timing. The clinician combines it with a physical examination, your history and your doctor's advice. Insoles support comfort and function; they do not cure medical conditions.
What happens at a Footscan appointment
- History and examination: your symptoms, activity, footwear and any diagnosis from your doctor.
- Static scan: standing on the plate to see pressure distribution and balance.
- Dynamic scan: walking (and running, for athletes) across the plate. The system records how the foot lands, rolls and pushes off.
- Review together: we show you the pressure map on screen and explain what it may mean.
- Insole design: support, cushioning and any modifications (for example heel relief or metatarsal support) are planned from the data.
- Fitting and follow-up: insoles are checked in your shoes and reviewed after you have worn them.
Please bring the shoes you wear most, including work or sports shoes, and any doctor's reports.
What are PHITS insoles?
PHITS insoles are designed from Footscan data and 3D-printed as a thin, light nylon base, finished with an EVA or PU top cover. Because the base is printed, stiffness and support can be varied in different zones of the same insole. Read our comparison: PHITS 3D vs TPU, PVC and EVA insoles.
